NEW YORK AWAITS THE WINNER OF THE JCB BACKHOE OPERATOR CHALLENGE
JCB will stage the ‘JCB Backhoe Operator Challenge’ at SED 2008 with visitors competing for the chance to win a fantastic trip for two to New York.
This all-new competition will be run in addition to JCB’s usual stand space and demonstration area, making up JCB’s largest ever presence at the show. The Backhoe Operator Challenge will include timed tasks where operators can test their skills. The fastest operator each day will win a new JCB Toughphone with the fastest overall winning the New York trip. The contest will provide the perfect opportunity for visitors to experience JCB’s class-leading backhoe control systems.
The JCB stand will showcase a series of additions to its range of products for the construction industry. It will debut a number of new products to the UK market including three new mini excavators designed to further enhance JCB’s range of compact models for small contractors, plant hirers, landscapers and utility companies.
Based on JCB’s highly impressive 8045 platform, the 8055 will be available as either reduced tailswing or zero tailswing and will compete in the 5-6 tonne sector. Based on JCB’s 801 series of easier to service, easier to operate and more comfortable machines, the new 8020 is positioned between the existing 8018 and 8025 models.
The company is also set to strengthen its JS tracked range with the addition the 29-tonne JS290. Bridging the gap between the JS260 and JS330 in JCB’s existing tracked excavator line-up, the JS290 will compete in the growing 28 to 35-tonne market. It features the hallmarks of JCB’s Auto range, the most powerful and efficient machines JCB has ever offered. The slew torque and bucket tearout are best in class and stand 14 per cent and 19 per cent ahead of the class average.
The new Midi CX, which is a 50-horsepower backhoe loader, will also be on the stand along side the new HiViz Loadalls, which make their first UK appearance as full production machines. Completing the line up on the JCB stand will be the Groundhog 4x4 and the HTD5 Hi-Tip Dumpster and latest models from the wheeled loading shovel, Robot, backhoe loader and JCB Vibromax ranges.
